For an international company with a production site in Aalst, we are looking for a junior project manager who is eager to gain operational experience and contribute to the successful execution of key R&D and business development initiatives in a growing sector.

This company is part of a large international group. You will find yourself in a technically challenging environment, where there is room for initiative and numerous training and development opportunities. The team you will join is small and lean.

Your new role

As project manager, you have 3 areas of responsibility: R&D project management, strategic business development and operational and strategic support.

R&D project management

• You support the Senior Project Manager in the R&D and industrialization phases of the project, ensuring smooth collaboration across sites in Belgium, Switzerland, and Spain.

• You act as a liaison between R&D, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align technical, operational, and commercial goals.

• You assist in coordinating the manufacturing of the product, tracking progress, and ensuring quality standards.

• You work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

Strategic Business Development

• You collaborate on the strategic planning of the products, analyzing market trends and competitive landscapes to support strategic decisions on capacity expansion and partnerships.

Operational and Strategic Support

• You assist in tracking project performance, preparing reports, and identifying areas for improvement.

• You identify and mitigate risks to project timelines, quality, and budget.

• You support process optimization efforts across divisions.

Your profile

• You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A focus on energy, industrial management, or strategy is a plus.

• Previous experience in technical project management or R&D is an advantage but is not required.

• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

• You have the skills to contribute to strategic planning processes and business development activities.

• You are willing to travel to the different project sites in Belgium, Switzerland, and Spain as required.

• You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch, French and/or Spanish is a plus.
