Our client is an international company with a small office in Diegem where you work closely with your colleagues in the legal department. Our client attaches great importance to personal growth and development. You will work in a 40-hour week with flexible working hours, and after completing a training you will also have the opportunity to work from home for 2 days.
Your new role
As a Legal Counsel, you will work closely with your colleagues at the Diegem office, who will support you in a variety of tasks. It is a small company with an international culture and different divisions, where you will have contact with all departments. Main responsibilities:
- You draft and negotiate different types of agreements and support SCE in its legal commercial activities.
- You provide legal advice on daily questions in an accurate, pragmatic and clear way.
- You will advise your internal customers and ensure that the general instructions of the regional headquarters are followed.
- You are prepared to identify and improve existing policies and procedures to proactively prevent problems and minimize risk, providing training to your internal stakeholders where necessary.
- You assist internal stakeholders in signing documents according to the internal process and support in legalizing documents where necessary.
- You provide legislative advice and stay informed of recent legislative changes that impact on the SCE and its day-to-day operations.
Your profile
Hays is looking for a Legal Counsel who ideally meets the following requirements:
- Education: you have a Master's degree in Law and several years of experience as a legal counsel or legal advisor.
- Languages: English is the official language; other languages are a plus (Dutch, French, Turkish or Japanese).
- IT knowledge: you have good knowledge of MS Office and Docusign.
- Skills: you have knowledge of compliance, commercial law and insurance; knowledge of GDPR is a plus.
- Personality: you are a stable person, social and communicative. You are someone who likes to work in a family atmosphere, who likes to work in a team.
