Your new role
We are looking for a Financial Controlling Director to join the Finance leadership team of a highly regarded organization. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and optimize the financial control function across operations in Belgium and Luxembourg, ensuring high standards of financial reporting, closing, and compliance. Your key responsibilities:
  • Take charge of the financial controlling function, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation, review, and analysis of financial results for the company.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial control frameworks to protect the integrity of financial data, ensuring alignment with Group Accounting Principles and Belgian/Luxembourg GAAP.
  • Work closely with the Leadership Team to implement the company's strategy, providing expert financial insights and adding value to key decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with the European Financial Controlling team to roll out group-wide financial accounting policies and initiatives.
  • Lead, guide, and develop a high-performing team of financial controllers, fostering an environment of growth, learning, and professional development.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they are both accurate and transparent.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to the workers' council and represent the finance function during these discussions.
  • Partner with the Risk & Control team, tax specialists, external auditors, and other external parties to ensure regulatory compliance and streamline financial controlling processes.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts within the financial controlling function, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and automation.
  • Report to the VP Financial Control at the EU level and the SVP Finance & Strategy in Belgium.

Your profile
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in senior finance roles, particularly in financial controlling or financial audit.
  • Deep expertise in financial accounting, management reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance standards, and international reporting frameworks such as IFRS.
  • Proven leadership ability, with a track record of building and inspiring high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
